“Do you know what your name means?” Sirius asked, letting himself fall on the sofa next to her, as casually as everything he ever did.
“My name?” Marlene repeated stranged and slightly annoyed, raising an eyebrow at him. “Why?”
“It means star of the sea,” he went on, ignoring her question.
“So?”
Sirius’ lips turned slightly upwards. “Do you know what my name means?”
Marlene left aside the essay she had been trying to write, to cross her arms and stare at him with narrowed eyes.
“Is there a point you want to get at?”
“It means star of the sky,” he smirked, ignoring her question again. “Don’t you see?”
“See what, Black?”
“That we’re meant to be, McKinnon,” Sirius replied simply, as if he was stating a known scientific fact. He even shrugged, but before Marlene could get out of her shock, he was on his feet and smirking at her from over his shoulder, on his way up to his room. “See you around.” (x)
